Padmaavat banned in Gujarat after Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh

Some Karni Sena members are found protesting outside Censor Board of Film Certification office in order to put a permanent ban on the release. However, the makers can now sigh a bit in relief as Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has given a green signal to the film's release.

The CBFC had given the Deepika Padukone-starrer a U/A certificate and suggested many changes, including altering the title.

Although the Rajput community had called for a nationwide ban, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh were the first two states ban the films from screening in their respective states. However, Gujarat's Chief Minister Vijay Rupani refuses to lift the ban imposed on the film before the assembly elections citing law and order concerns.

Patna DM, Kumar Ravi said he was yet to receive an instruction on the film's release.

He claimed that six states have announced a ban on the movie.
