Arsenal have second bid for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang rejected

Camera IconDortmund's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang watches disappointed during the German Bundesliga soccer match between Borussia Dortmund and SC Freiburg in Dortmund, Germany, Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018.

Arsenal are thought to have bid £44m and £50m for the striker, but Dortmund want at least £50m.

Dortmund are rumoured to be willing to part with the striker for a deal in the region of £60m (AU$104m), according to Sky Sports, although it appears there is still a large gap in the two clubs' valuations of the player.

It remains to be seen if he will make the move but there have been questions asked about his interest in the deal, with Arsenal sixth in the Premier League and only in the Europa League.

Aubameyang has been dubbed a rotten apple by former Dortmund star Matthias Sammer, while Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has said he would never sign a player behaving such as the Gabon global is, in his efforts to push through a move.

Yaya played for Laval, Le Havre and Toulouse and also featured 80 times for Gabon.

With the clock ticking towards the deadline day, the former Tottenham Hotspur and AC Milan player has urged the Gabon worldwide to sit down with his employers to speed up his transfer to England.

Arsenal's hopes of signing the Borussia Dortmund ace could be affected by Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Lucas Moura.

Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho explains why Alexis Sanchez missed drugs test
Alexis Sanchez completed his transfer from Arsenal to Manchester United in a straight swap deal, where Henrikh Mkhitaryan moved the other way.

"Either our demands are met and there will be a transfer, or they aren't met and Auba will play in Dortmund until summer".

"We have made it clear that we are ready to realise a transfer when our wishes are completely fulfilled".

That was not enough to appease some home supporters, however, as Aubameyang emerged as the villain of the piece and remained on the periphery of the game, sporting director Michael Zorc having earlier confirmed that a transfer could happen if Arsenal up its bid for the forward.

"Arsenal have made several attempts so far [to sign Aubameyang] and they have all been rejected".

"Arsenal [in] London is no top club in Europe".

Whether the player-swap or player-money transfer will materialize is something that remains subject to time.

"By the way, this has also been discussed with, and accepted by, the Aubameyang family".
