Vince is expected to be spared the axe after averaging 26.88 in the series, but indicated the Australian wickets shouldn't affect selection at home when he was quizzed on the matter on Wednesday.

"We've got to go to New Zealand and take what we've learned from here and try and be better in that series".

Plunkett last wore an England jersey in September, when he played against the West Indies at Southampton, and looking ahead to the opening 50-over game, said: "Australia are a good team and they're confident from the Ashes".
