Filming on The Rhythm Section in Dublin, Ireland was halted last month after she suffered a serious injury while filming an action sequence and sources close to the set told WENN she may have broken a finger.
Lively injured her hand while filming a hard action sequence back in December, which led to a temporary shutdown once it was established the actress would need surgery and sufficient time to recover.
"Hiatus on the production of The Rhythm Section has been extended due to the hand injury Blake Lively sustained while filming an action sequence on the action thriller at the end of a year ago". Production had shut down temporarily after the injury, but Lively reportedly needs a second surgery to fully heal.
And on Monday, production on the movie was shut down indefinitely, THR.com reported, with crews being told to find other work.
The Rhythm Section is an adaptation of the first of Mark Burnell's Stephanie Patrick novels, which follows a woman (Lively) that seeks to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that killed her family - a flight that she was meant to be on. The British-American spy thriller recently resumed filming in NY, but sources close to the situation tell The Hollywood Reporter that shooting has now been suspended indefinitely with camera crews being told to find work elsewhere.

That seems to be the problem with the Blake Lively spy movie THE RHYTHM SECTION, which has suspended production due to the hand injury sustained by its leading lady. We have to go into stunts, so it's very complicated, ' she said.
It is unclear when production for The Rhythm Section will resume, or if its release date of February 22, 2019, will be delayed.
