Cardi B performs at pre-Grammy event, celebrates nominations

Since she's reached superstar status, Cardi B has caught the attention of many major celebrities, but now she has finally come face-to-face with a female rap icon she respects.

The 25-year-old performer celebrated her first pair of Grammy nominations at The Grill in New York City with a performance of her five hit songs, also giving the audience a dose of her humor and likable personality.

Her song "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)" reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart past year and is nominated for best rap song and best rap performance at Sunday's show.

It will certainly be a big night for the Bronx native, as she's nominated in two categories: Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for "Bodak Yellow".

During her set, Cardi cycled through her banner 2017 hits like Bruno Mars' "Finesse" remix, her Offset collaboration "Lick", G-Eazy's "No Limit", and her latest single "Bartier Cardi".

Her major label debut single, "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)", topped the Hot 100 a year ago and made her the first solo female rapper to hit No. 1 since Lauryn Hill in 1998.
