Casey Affleck
A rep for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences confirmed the withdrawal on Thursday.
Affleck's publicist said Thursday that the actor would not be at the ceremony on March 4 where, traditionally, he would have been expected to present the award for best actress as the reigning best actor victor.
As has become customary with the Oscars, the previous victor of Best Actor presents the following year's award to the Best Actress, however, that will not be the case this year as it's emerged that Casey Affleck will not be presenting following his win for Manchester By the Sea in 2017.
The Oscar-winning star triumphed in 2017 for his role in "Manchester By The Sea", and was expected to follow tradition by presenting the award for best actress in his capacity as the reigning best actor.

Critics have spoken up about about the possibility of Affleck presenting. A petition on Change.org with more than 19,000 signatures demanded, "Don't let Casey Affleck hand off the 2018 best actress Oscar".
