Singer Chris Brown is the subject of a California Department of Fish and Wildlife investigation for allegedly never getting a permit to keep his pet monkey.
Brown had previously posted a photo of his 3-year-old daughter Royalty holding a capuchin monkey.
And it seems that Chris Brown is the latest Tinsel Town resident to hit headlines over a primate - as, according to TMZ, he could be facing charges over keeping one as a pet.
However, one insider revealed later that Chris wanted to own a monkey because of Michael Jackson who it is known had a chimp named Bubbles.

While Brown isn't in trouble for bringing his daughter and the exotic animal together, the Fish and Wildlife team discovered that Brown didn't have the proper permits to house the Capuchin monkey. Authorities got a warrant to search Brown's home, and ended up confiscating the animal. The monkey is said to be fine. They'll unfortunately still be pressing charges against him, TMZ adds, citing his possession of a restricted species without a permit, a violation that carries six months maximum behind bars.
According to TMZ, the 28-year-old Grammy victor has already voluntarily surrendered his female baby capuchin monkey Fiji, and the case has been turned over to the L.A. City Attorney.
