North Indian engineering students in Kerala allege principal gave beef cutlets claiming it was vegetarian

A group of students from Cochin University College of Engineering Kuttanadu, Aleppey, has approached the District Magistrate against the principal for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the North Indian students by providing them beef cutlets claiming that it was vegetarian.

A controversy has broken out in a Kerala college over serving of beef cutlets.

The students allege that it was a conspiracy to make them eat beef.

Another student accused the college principal of targeting north Indian students' religious beliefs a few days before the beef incident.

"Usually the college distributes the snacks during such events, and we only distribute vegetarian food items".

He said that the seminar was not organised by the college, but by a forum of retired bank employees.
