Ballast Point Is Opening a Brewery at Disneyland
First, it was announced that the popular craft brewery Ballast Point would be opening a new restaurant and brewery in Downtown Disney this year.
The new 9,350-sq ft space will be Ballast Point's first site in Orange County, California and is due to open later this year. "And it exposes us to people from across the country and around the world", she said.
The move marks Ballast Point's continued expansion outside of San Diego - and Southern California. The 7,000-square foot brewery will sit in the Downtown Disney District and house a three-barrel research and development brewery, restaurant, and an outdoor beer garden with cabana-style seating. The seasonally inspired menu will include ingredients such as steroid- and antibiotic-free proteins, line-caught fish, and local produce, when available. "There are so many incredible breweries in the SoCal area, so we were really honoured to be tapped by Disney".
"In our talks with Disney, they have a plan to elevate and localize the offerings for Downtown Disney", said Hilary Cocalis, a Ballast Point spokeswoman.
In recent months, Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort has undergone a few closures with the promise of new dining locations making their way to the district.
The location will also be styled similar to the brewery's San Diego locations.
While 2017 figures have not yet been released, Ballast Point brewed 431,000 barrels of beer in 2016 (a barrel is 31 gallons).

The brewery recently opened a brewery and tasting room in Daleville, Va., and will break into the Midwest with a new brewery and kitchen in Chicago.
What started in 1996 as a small group of home brewers who simply wanted to make great beer evolved into the team of adventurers known today as Ballast Point.
