Donald Trump says US could 'go back' into Paris climate agreement
Trump tweeted Friday amid criticism over his comments during a White House meeting Wednesday.
"So we could conceivably go back in", Trump said, without expanding on what would have to happen or change. "What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made - a big setback for DACA!"
Trump on Friday denied using certain "language", but didn't offer more specifics.
Trump's comments Thursday came as two senators presented details of a bipartisan compromise that would extend protections against deportation for hundreds of thousands of young immigrants - and also strengthen border protections, as Trump has insisted.
Trump maintained Wednesday he has "no problem" with the accord, but said he had a problem with the agreement as signed.
Haiti's ambassador to the US, Paul Altidor, said on Friday the president's reported remarks were particularly unwelcome coming on the eighth anniversary of the quake which killed more than 200,000 people on the Caribbean island.

However, Twitter users were highly suspicious of Trump's line of reasoning. "They're s***hole countries. We should have more people from Norway".
The country is also home to a rotational force of 300 U.S. Marines training for cold weather and mountainous warfare, mirroring a rotational armored brigade fanned out across Eastern Europe.
Prime Minister Erna Solberg noted that many Norwegians drive US -made Tesla electric cars and said her country saw "tremendous economic and business opportunities" as nations around the world fight climate change.
President Donald Trump's invitation to Norwegians to immigrate to the United States, while railing against entrants from "s***hole countries", has received a glacial reception in this Nordic country. Some members of Congress directly characterized the president's remarks as racist.
House Speaker Paul Ryan says that President Donald Trump's vulgar slur about Africa was "very unfortunate, unhelpful". He called immigration "a attractive story of America " and said Africans in his hometown of Janesville, Wisconsin, are "incredible citizens". It's been 100 years since the United States was not considered the Free World leader. But it wasn't just Democrats objecting.
"It took a lot of our asset values". Solberg, by contrast, cited her support of the agreement, which she said would help American businesses.
