UCLA student leaders are advocating for a federal bill to provide permanent protections for undocumented individuals brought to the United States as children.
Now, chief executives and other leaders from more than 100 companies - including Apple, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Amazon, IBM, Coke, Target and Best Buy - have cosigned a letter addressed to top Congressional leaders.
"We write to urge Congress to act immediately and pass a permanent bipartisan legislative solution to enable Dreamers who are now living, working, and contributing to our communities to continue doing so", the letter reads. This window of action leaves only 45 days for implementation prior to March 5th'.
"It just shows everyone how broken and unfair our Court System is when the opposing side in a case (such as DACA) always runs to the 9th Circuit and nearly always wins before being reversed by higher courts", Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.
They said that not only would the termination cause "a tremendous upheaval in the lives of DACA employees", but that not passing legislation in a prompt manner "will lead to businesses losing valuable talent, cause disruptions in the workforce and will result in significant costs". Not only would failing to extend DACA cause untold human suffering, they note, it could cost the US economy $215 billion in lost GDP.

We have a real opportunity to find a permanent legislative solution for Dreamers, although the only way it is going to happen is by working together. It is set to publish in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal as a full-page ad on Thursday. The most logical place to start this conversation is with America's Dreamers. Udall urged Republicans to join with Democrats and work in good faith toward an immediate agreement that will protect the future of the 800,000 Dreamers in the United States, including 7,000 Dreamers in New Mexico.
