Arvind Kejriwal Delhi chief minister and AAP national convener is also likely to campaign for the party in Karnataka
In a major blow to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, AAP party in Delhi, the Election Commission today recommended the disqualification of 20 of its legislators. This was challenged by Advocate Prashant Patel who petitioned President Pranab Mukherjee on June 19, 2015, that these MLAs were now holding "office of profit" and should be disqualified.
The recommendations were sent to President Ram Nath Kovind for his consideration.
There, however, was no official word from the Commission. AAP has chose to challenge the decision in the court of law if President upholds EC's recommendations.
This disqualification will not meddle with AAP's position in the assembly, but is definitely a serious setback for the party.

Court dismisses IPOB suit against proscription

Last year, the Election Commission had rejected a petition by the MLAs to drop the office of profit case. Half of his cabinet ministers removed on corruption charges!
Both BJP and Congress have sought Arvind Kejriwal's resignation and dissolution of Delhi Assembly.
Gupta said that disqualification of 20 AAP MLAs was a "huge moral defeat for CM Arvind Kejriwal" adding that the latter must;resign on ethical grounds'. He added, "this should be an eye-opener for the misgovernance of the Aam Aadmi Party in the capital". It had appointed over two dozen of them as parliamentary secretaries. "Election Commission verdict is final nail in the coffin of the Delhi government and also in the tall claims of AAP and its deliverance of the Justice to people of national capital".
