Former Vikings on the Saints ready for first trip back to Minnesota

Vikings Prep For Playoff Revenge Versus Saints

Vikings Prep For Playoff Revenge Versus Saints

The first time the Saints and Vikings met this season, Minnesota defeated New Orleans 29-19 at U.S. Bank Stadium back in week 1.

Going into the Saints playoff matchup this Sunday, the Vikings are battle-tested and are ready for any matchup thrown their way.

Their last postseason game, on January 24, 2010, went into overtime with the Saints winning 31-28 in the NFC Championship Game.

That's why it was so surprising that the Saints made a decision to sign Peterson to a two-year, $7 million contract in April.

The Cardinals came calling for Adrian Peterson.

New Orleans jettisoned former Vikings running back Adrian Peterson after a miserable four-game run and thrived with Mark Ingram and rookie Alvin Kamara, becoming one of the league's most risky running back duos. "I'd like to remind my friend Senator Kennedy that the Vikings kicked off this season with a win against New Orleans-and I know we can do it again!" said Klobuchar. We had read - or in some cases, written - that story countless times before. You better believe he's trying to trying to catch his father.

Brees will present a challenge; at 38, he's seen it all in 17 NFL seasons and 12 playoff games, but he's still one of the quickest passers in football.

Latavius Murray carried the ball 20 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns against Chicago. Ingram and Kamara both exceeded Peterson's single-season high for receptions (43 in 2009) by a substantial margin. Never has a player and a team been more set up for a fall. Kamara gained a total of 33 yards on 11 touches.

The win is Indiana's third over Cleveland this season and improves their record to 22-20. 26-13 against everybody else. LeBron downplayed that comment by suggesting the Cavaliers simply need to get back to "playing ball the right way".

Kane set to break more records
The South Korea star was just happy to have a full-time role this season, saying: "I love playing now". I want to keep going scoring but we all played well today, not just me.

Conte frustrated as 10-man Leicester holds Chelsea to scoreless draw
Chelsea fans began to turn on Antonio Conte during our stalemate with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. Conte's Blues suffered a frustrating afternoon as they were held to 0-0 draw by Leicester earlier today.

Bradford was placed on the IR on November 8 after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to clean his left knee.

But all of those accomplishments didn't mean Peterson was going to remain the ideal running back in a league where being able to do several things well is now a requirement.

The Saints have put 21 players on injured reserve this season, compared to 10 for Minnesota. But it was clear by that point that moving on from him might by a wise move.

The Vikings on Saturday activated quarterback Sam Bradford to the 53-man roster. Bridgewater was best working out of the shotgun; Peterson was best with his quarterback under center. It got worse in the postseason. Look for Joseph to attack the interior of the Saints line, as left guard Andrus Peat suffered a season-ending fibula injury last week.

Favre said, according to ESPN: "A concussion doesn't necessarily have to be knocked out cold and removed from a game, although the new protocol is in place to remove you from a game even if you're not walking sideways or your arm goes stiff or whatever".

Dalvin Cook, the Vikings' second-round pick who was lost early in the season to a torn ACL, is a far more complete running back than Peterson ever was during the course of his career.

"You get to go into the locker room and these are my dad's co-workers and they turn out to be legends", Cameron said.

While Keenum is at no risk of losing his starting job right now, the issue with Bradford does add a little intrigue to the team's evolving backup quarterback position.
