What's more interesting is that JBL, Lenovo, LG and Sony in particular will be launching smart speakers with touchscreens, akin to the Amazon Show, while the other companies may launch simpler, more affordable Assistant-powered devices. Essentially a smart speaker with a touch display, the Lenovo Smart Display is designed with a pretty focused usage scenario: for the home kitchen.
While third-party app support is on the way, the Lenovo smart displays won't be available right away.
Users of the smart displays being unveiled by Google can not browse the Web or install apps as they would on a tablet, but the new gadgets are optimized for sound quality and listening to voice commands.
The Google Assistant is going places this year, hopping between smart displays, cars, headphones, and TVs from various partners.
For that reason, the Lenovo Smart Display can be seen as an upgrade to a smart speaker.

Of course, that's why Google Assistant comes on just about every modern Android phone you can buy. I asked a Google representative why this might be allowed given that the Echo Show can't play video at full screen without telling Alexa explicitly to do just that.
Lenovo's variant of the smart display will come in two options, the first will sport an 8-inch display and will be priced at $200 (Approximately Rs 12,742).
The Google Assistant is also coming to more smart TVs.
Google Goes After the Amazon Echo Show with Assistant on Smart Displays. Sony and LG have yet to show a Smart Display device. Both displays look sharp and colourful, with the 8-inch one feeling like the flawless size for a device like this. That's not the entirety of Google Home sales but it suggests that the totality of devices sold is below 10 million. There is also a 5 MP front-facing camera for video calls, along with a dedicated camera shutter button if you ever need to take a selfie. The Smart Display features an 8 or 10-inch HD display with Google Assistant built-in.
Pricing details have yet to be announced, but JBL says the Link View will be available at some point this summer. Google assistant is also compatible with more than 1,500 smart home devices and accessories.
