Following the announcement of Chris Stapleton as the victor of Best Country Album, things took a somber turn at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.
The Brothers Osborne, Maren Morris and Eric Church perform at the 60th annual Grammy Awards at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, in NY.
"All of country music was reminded in the most tragic way the connection we share with our fans and the healing power music will always provide", Church told the Madison Square Garden and TV audiences.
During Sunday night's 60th Annual Grammy Awards in New York City, country stars Maren Morris, Brothers Osborne and Eric Church took time out of the celebration to pay tribute to victims of violence at live music events over the course of the a year ago, including the devastating Las Vegas concert shooting.
All four of the artists on stage then launched into a subdued version of Eric Clapton's 1991 hit, "Tears in Heaven", which he famously wrote to cope with the accidental death of his 4-year-old son.

The touching tribute was handled tenderly between singer TJ Osborne's soulful baritone, Morris' Texas twang and Church's forceful singing, although a bad microphone made much of Morris' intro before the song unintelligible.
Prior to the performance she referenced both the Vegas attack, which killed 58 people, and the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert at Manchester Arena.
Morris, who was up for Best Country Solo Performance that night, ushered in the performance with a few pointed comments about the gun tragedies that took place in 2017. Honored to tribute the victims of concert violence with my good friends at the GRAMMYs this year.
All three acts were performers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, which became the site of the deadliest mass shooting in America when a gunman opened fire on the crowd and killed 59 people.
