Republicans in Congress were divided Sunday over protecting special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, with two senators embracing plans to make it more hard for President Trump to have him fired but a top House lawmaker declaring them unnecessary. Mr. Mueller learned about the episode in recent months as his investigators interviewed current and former senior White House officials in his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice. The president's 2016 campaign has turned over more than 1.4 million pages. I think he's considering perhaps terminating the special counsel.

Early in his presidency, the commander in chief demanded a loyalty oath from FBI Director James Comey and pressed him to drop the investigation of the national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

Whether or not the document is released is ultimately up to Congress. Dowd did not name the people nor provide a breakdown of how many were interviewed only by Mueller's team.

Rosenstein told a Senate panel in June that he would not comply with an order from the White House to fire Mueller unless he believed the order "lawful and appropriate". CBS News has confirmed last June President Trump was angry about Mueller's investigation and raised concerns about three possibleMuellerr conflicts of interest.

Wild tales of secret societies, Obama wiretaps and "deep-state" conspiracies flow freely from the tongues of Trump apparatchiks.

Democrats, for now, seem less concerned with future presidents' autonomy than with checking Trump vis-à-vis Mueller. Those will include the president's elder son.

He remained there for the latter half of the quarter and the opening half of the fourth before getting back to close out the game. Anthony ironically hit the milestone against the team that passed on him with the No. 2 pick in the 2003 draft, the Pistons.

What the Patriots have accomplished is truly unprecedented and it's safe to say that we'll never see anything like this run again. Nick Foles is playing extremely well right now, as is the defense, holding its last four opponents to 10 points or fewer.

"Let's get them out there for everyone to see", Grassley said.

Republicans say their scrutiny is appropriate and does not undermine Mueller's probe.

It would be natural for Mueller to investigate an effort to oust him as special counsel, said Paul Rosenzweig, a senior fellow at the criminal justice think tank the R Street Institute, who was a member of the team led by independent counsel Kenneth Starr that investigated President Bill Clinton in the 1990s. Mueller was appointed special counsel by Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, after Attorney General Jeff Sessions stepped aside because of his own close involvement with the Trump campaign. McCabe said he did not vote in the 2016 election.

Strzok was reassigned from Mueller's Russian Federation investigation following the discovery of anti-Trump text messages he and Page, who was also briefly detailed to Mueller's team, had shared. Typical "New York Times" fake stories. Neither has gotten out of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Thank you. We have one more question on this. Republicans have said the memo alleges Federal Bureau of Investigation misconduct and some have argued that the public should see it. Trump made clear that his desire is to release the memo, which is at odds with the Justice Department's position. As it turned out, the White House knew for weeks that Flynn hadn't been truthful about his communications with Russian Federation - and neither McGahn nor Trump apparently felt concerned enough to force him out.

Tillis spokesman Daniel Keylin said some members have raised constitutionality concerns about the bills, and they now do not have the support needed to move them through Congress. Keylin said Friday that the talk about removing Mueller since last August when the measures were introduced have "completely come to a halt" as the President's team has shown signs of cooperation with the special counsel.
