On Friday, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter Mr Trump's decision undermined the multilateral agreement.
The Iran nuclear agreement - signed in 2015 by the Obama administration, Iran and other world powers - lifted economic sanctions in exchange for Tehran agreeing to give up its nuclear ambitions.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said on Thursday that he expected Trump to impose new sanctions on Iran.
