Mr Selfridge actor Jeremy Piven has denied new accusations of sexual misconduct saying: "I have never forced myself on anyone" and has described a Buzzfeed News report as "false". The incidents allegedly occurred in 1985, 1996 and 1994, respectively.

In addition to the women themselves, BuzzFeed spoke to a total of eight other people who all variously confirmed that the women had shared their stories with them at the time, or in the years since, well before these stories had gone to print. He additionally denied November claims of sexual misconduct and harassment.

The third woman alleged that Piven pushed her against a hotel room wall in Montreal in the early 1990s and attempted to force himself on her. "As evidenced by the lie detector test I took and passed, I have never forced myself on anyone, nor have I ever exposed myself or restrained anyone against their will".

"As one example, there is a claim that I grabbed the woman, started to kiss her, picked her up and wrapped her legs around my waist".

BuzzFeed says the latest women were speaking out because of frustration over Piven's previous denials.

BuzzFeed News reported that three women had come forward to allege inappropriate behaviour dating back decades, including one who claimed Piven had followed her into a trailer on the set of a film in 1985 and had pinned her down on a couch.

Piven immediately provided BuzzFeed with a statement, vehemently denying the new reports, and mentioning a lie detector test he passed past year when the initial accusations were published.

"Jeremy Piven, on two occasions, cornered me & forcefully fondled my breasts & bum", she posted on Twitter.

TheWrap reached out to Piven for comment but his reps have yet to respond.

Since the initial allegations, the beleaguered actor's show on US network CBS, Wisdom of the Crowd, has been cancelled.
