Judge unseals search warrants in mass shooting in Las Vegas
An FBI agent tells a judge in warrant documents made public Friday that Marilou Danley wasn't arrested when she returned to the USA from the Philippines days after the October 1 shooting, and that she was cooperating with investigators.
The Los Angeles Times reported that investigators are not sure why Paddock would send emails between accounts he controlled, or whether one was controlled by another person, which would mean, "investigators need to determine who was communicating with him about weapons that were used in the attack", one of the warrants said.
Her boyfriend, Stephen Paddock, shot himself dead after firing from a Las Vegas Strip casino into a concert crowd, killing 58 people and injuring hundreds. Investigators were only able to search one but could not unlock the others.
Authorities released Paddock's name about an hour after Danley deleted her account.
One of the warrants describe the extent to which Paddock went to conceal his actions, saying he "destroyed or tried to hide digital media devices".
Newly unsealed search warrants show that investigators trying to piece together the details of the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas have not yet found a motive. They found the same in his hotel room, along with three cell phones, one of which was locked and could not be accessed, the documents said.

The FBI agent who prepared the affidavit noted that Danely was cooperating with investigators and that the investigation "to date has not produced any conclusive evidence that Danely aided Paddock, had foreknowledge of his plans, or has been deceptive with law enforcement".
Authorities also said that investigators searching Paddock's hotel rooms at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, along with his vehicle and homes, found more than 20 guns, hundreds of rounds of unused ammunition, suitcases partially filled with "pre-loaded high capacity magazines", body armor, a homemade gas mask and explosive materials.
The FBI returned to the house a week later for what officials called "redocumenting and rechecking".
Danley reportedly told investigators that they should expect to find her fingerprints on some of the weapons used in the massacre, which killed 75 people, because she sometime helped Paddock load ammunition into his guns.
By 5 a.m., she had been located and identified as "a person of interest" in the shooting. In fact, Paddock took a number of steps aimed at tripping up investigators, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation team trying to get to the bottom of the shooting wrote that the 64-year-old exhibited "a level of sophistication which is commonly found in mass casualty events".
According to CNN, the documents reveal a series of email exchanges that occurred just two months before the attack. There is a mention of Paddock's health in one affidavit, with an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent saying that he "may have been treated for yet unidentified medical conditions", but the agent does not elaborate.
