Edakallu Chandrashekhar passes away
Yesteryear Kannada actor Chandrasekhar passed away due to cardiac arrest in Canada on Saturday. The film ran for over 36 weeks at a leading single-screen theatre in Bengaluru. His daughter Tanya, based out of Bengaluru told the media that her father had suffered a massive cardiac arrest.
Chandrashekhar had debuted as a child artiste with Namma Makkalu in 1969 but got his big break from the film Edakallu Guddada Mele, a film directed by Puttanna Kanagal.
Chandrashekhar inspired a generation of actors in Kannada films and went onto do many more remembered parts in several other films and Television serials in his 4 decade career.
Nonetheless, his association with Kannada films never ended: He was taking out time to work in Sandalwood at every given opportunity.
He took a long sabbatical from acting career after his marriage.
