
2 killed as army fires in 'self defence' on stone pelters in Kashmir
Around 100 protestors hurled stones at an Army administrative convoy that was passing through Ganaupura chowk in Shopian, the Army said in a statement.
Two people were killed and nine others wounded when the Army opened fire at a violent crowd in Jammu and Kashmir's southern Shopian district on Saturday afternoon.
Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Basheer Ahmad Khan has ordered the Shopian District Magistrate to probe the killings and submit the report within 15 days. According to locals, the army opened fire after youth resorted to stone pelting in the area.
