Kuwait pledges economic support for Lebanon
Lebanese President Michel Aoun speaking to the Lebanese community in Kuwait during an official visit in Kuwait City yesterday.
The two men denounced the USA decision that recognized Palestine as the capital of Israel.
"The Emir of Kuwait expressed his readiness during the bilateral talks to support Lebanon in all files, and for Kuwait to back Lebanon in the region", she said.
According to his press office, Aoun said that Lebanon's current stability encouraged investment and contribution to the economic development plan now being developed.
Al-Sabah announced that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development would issue an aid package "in support of Lebanon" aimed at enhancing the country's economy.

LEBANESE President Michel Aoun led a delegation to Kuwait yesterday, his government's first visit to the Gulf since the shock resignation and return of the prime minister late a year ago. The Lebanese president's accompanying delegation comprises Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Jebran Bassil, Minister of Communications Jamal Al-Jarrah, Minister of State for Human Rights Ayman Choucair, Minister of State for Administrative Development Affairs Inayat Ezzdin and several other senior officials.
"The talks between Lebanon and Kuwait reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries, their people, and ways to improve them in all fields to meet their aspirations and expand the scope of cooperation between Kuwait and Lebanon in a manner that serves their common interests", he said.
The President and the Emir headed to the main palace of the Emir, the Bayan Palace, where Aoun will stay during his two-day visit, NNA added.
