Netanyahu Pushes 'New Model' for Palestinian Peace

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 29 in Moscow, simultaneous statements released by the Prime Minister's Office and the Kremlin said Thursday.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the current nuclear deal as "inadequate" saying that under the current conditions, Iran would be allowed to "push forward and quickly create an arsenal of nuclear weapons without any worldwide accord preventing them from doing so".

It will be the first time the two leaders have met face to face since Trump's landmark recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a hotly contested announcement that shook the global community and sparked waves of protest around the world.

Also on Thursday at the Davos Economic Forum, Netanyahu met with the Chairman of the Board of Mitsubishi Corporation, Ken Kobayashi, and they discussed potential opportunities in the Israeli market for the Japanese.

Netanyahu asked Merkel and other leaders not to settle for "cosmetic changes" in the Iran deal and instead strive for concrete and legitimate changes to prevent Iran from becoming nuclear capable. "Because it gives Iran, the most significant terrorist state in this era, the means to create nuclear weapons, atomic bombs".

Netanyahu and Putin will likely meet again at the upcoming Munich Security Conference in February, following another meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington D.C. before AIPAC's Policy Conference in March.
