Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy called the new tax law a "frontal attack on the ability of our states to pay for things like education".

When a NY journalist said that winning the lawsuit might be a longshot due to past federal court precedents, Cuomo responded that no legal predictions should be made until the pre-trial discovery shows exactly how the $10,000 limit was enacted and whether it discriminated against the Democratic-controlled states.

The New York Democrat announced Tuesday that DACA recipients would receive Medicaid coverage in the state regardless of federal government action.

For his part, though, Malloy said litigation could produce "interesting" documents during the discovery process; he mentioned communications between top Republican congressional leaders that could show "what they were doing to blue states".
