Oklahoma City Police Department releases more details on its 1st officer-involved shooting of 2018

A person is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting Thursday night in northwest Oklahoma City.

At 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, the GPD reported an officer was investigating a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of J. Verne Smith Parkway and Victor Avenue Extension.

Oklahoma City police officers were in the middle of helping a motorist when they responded to a nearby disturbance.

The injured suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The officer who fired their weapon is on paid administrative leave.
