"I can not tell you more, nothing to announce today".

Chelsea are toying with the possibility of making a last-ditch attempt to sign Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud if they fail to land Edin Dzeko, according to a report. "It's possible, we will try, but at the moment we are not close to signing anybody".

However, if that doesn't come off then a move for Giroud to Chelsea could free up the extra cash needed to complete the deal.

Borussia Dortmund were also keen on the striker being included in a potential deal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but the Gunners rejected the move.

Arsene Wenger has said that he believes Mesut Ozil is "ready to commit" to a new Arsenal contract, confirming that the player is still in talks about extending his stay at the club.
