The State will decide on Tuesday morning whether or not to pursue the death penalty against the suspected Seminole Heights killer
On Tuesday, Hillsborough State Attorney Andrew Warren said he will seek the death penalty against 24-year-old Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, who has been charged with killing four people from October through November in the neighborhood known as Seminole Heights.
Howell Emanuel Donaldson III, 24, is accused of killing Benjamin Mitchell, 22, on October 9, Monica Hoffa, 32, was killed in a vacant lot two days later, Anthony Naiboa, 20, was killed October 19 and Ronald Felton, 60, in November. He said that Donaldson killed four innocent people in a "cold, calculated and premeditated manner" and that there is no evidence showing he is mentally ill.
Warren said that while they cannot bring back the victims, prosecutors "can seek justice for their deaths, and we will". He said some family members favored the death penalty, while others preferred a life sentence.
Donaldson's family said they hope Warren will change his mind.
Warren said his office is still trying to convince Donaldson's mother and father to cooperate with investigators.

Shortly after his arrest, the state attorney announced he would consider Donaldson's age, mental well-being and the crimes he's accused of committing before deciding whether or not to seek the death penalty.
During the press coference, Warren said that they chose to pursue the death penalty due to several factors. The governor, said Warren, wished him well prosecuting the case and offered his support to do whatever he could for the victims and their families.
Warren says his office will be ready to head to court, prepared to prosecute Howell Donaldson III's capital case in six months.
