Pulse Polio Programme 2018: Around 18940 Children in 0 to 5 Age Group Immunised in Kargil
Chandrababu Naidu administered polio drops to children in Vijayawada on Sunday. Around 786 teams have been deployed including 3313 health, ASHA, and Aganwari workers. Around 382 vaccination booths were setup in different parts of the district and as per the reports around 18,940 children in 0 to 5 age group were vaccinated. The president flagged off the programme by administering polio drops to children below five years at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Saturday.
Shri J P Nadda also pointed out that Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) is focusing on to protect children from more diseases than ever before and has introduced several new vaccines like Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine, and Measles-Rubella in the recent past. As many as 1360 employees including Health Workers, ASHAs and Aanganwari workers have been engaged while as 89 supervisors will monitor the whole process.
