Greg Docherty set to clinch move to Rangers

Scottish Premiership giants Rangers announce the signing of 21-year-old midfielder Greg Docherty from Hamilton Academical for an undisclosed fee.

Rangers completed the signing of Greg Docherty at Ibrox on Thursday.

The BBC Sportsound analyst went on to say that he thought the player was destined for the Premier League and that it was "unbelievable business" that Rangers got him for £600,000.

"The financial agreement has been signed by both clubs, so it's up to Rangers to contact him and arrange a medical".

And McManus explained that he expects Rangers to finish the season strongly and give a real chase to leaders Celtic.

He scored eight goals for the club, including last season's crucial play-off victor against Dundee United which rescued Hamilton from relegation. "I want to manage people who are hungry to improve".

However, with Ryan Jack ruled out of the remainder of the season through injury, the young signing could well find himself challenging for an immediate first-team place.

Agreeing personal terms proved to be a mere formality for Docherty, who becomes Gers' fifth January signing following the recruitment of loanees Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy, Jason Cummings and Russell Martin.

He could make his debut on Sunday, when Rangers travel to face Ross County.

The Ibrox club moved to secure the talented youngster from the Lanarkshire club after over 100 appearances for them.
