Royals, Escobar agree on new contract

Shortstop Alcides Escobar has agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract to remain with the Kansas City Royals, a source told ESPN's Buster Olney.

Robert Murray of FanRag says that a deal is done between the Royals and Alcides Escobar, pending a physical.

During the 2017 season he had a .250 batting average with 71 runs scored and 54 RBIs. He played for the Brewers for parts of three seasons before that.
