Baker Mayfield not paying attention to Johnny Manziel comparisons

Browns GM John Dorsey thinks Baker Mayfield gets a bad rap on the character front, but other National Football League personnel executives at the Senior Bowl still see too much Johnny Manziel in him. This year's NFL Draft will be held in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium beginning on April 26. For his efforts, he earned first-team All Pac-12 honors.

"To see what I'm all about and see how I react to certain things", said Mayfield when asked why he thought the Broncos requested to work with him. When all is said and done, the Broncos might know Mayfield and Allen about as well as they know the quarterbacks now on their roster, and that knowledge will allow them to make the most educated decision they could possibly make in regards to the future of the franchise.

He insists he isn't consumed with the spot he's selected, even though it will dictate the amount of his rookie signing bonus. He says he has a chip on his shoulder. "I know that people in our organization were very aware of what the class was coming up". "There's a big three I try to imitate, all of them, at one point".

"I definitely think it's a different situation than it has been in the past few years", Allen said. "I'm there to play football", he said.

The task list went as follows: Gain weight, become more violent in his approach to the game, and improve his overall production. He got to 215 his freshman year at UTSA and has steadily added to his frame.

"It was more like see food, eat food", he said. It's challenged me, it's made me face adversity, learn what I'm all about. "I could care less where I end up but I just want a chance to win games for somebody".

Davenport doesn't hesitate to share his own critical analysis of his game. "You need a guy that's kind of a dynamic personality, that knows how to handle people, both good and bad, because you're going to have ups and downs. Needs some polish, but once he figures out how to maximize those physical tools, he could be a huge presence in the middle", Draft Wire's Luke Easterling said in an interview earlier in January.
