The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is launching a regulatory review, following allegations that casino mogul Steve Wynn sexually abused employees.

Wynn, 76, released a statement Saturday saying, "The idea that I ever assaulted any woman is preposterous", adding that, "We find ourselves in a world where people can make allegations, regardless of the truth, and a person is left with the choice of weathering insulting publicity or engaging in multi-year lawsuits".

I thank the President for the opportunity to serve and wish him continued success."According to the Wall Street Journal, Wynn frequently demanded naked massages from female employees, sometimes pressuring them for sex".

The company says it is committed to operating with the "highest ethical standards and maintaining a safe and respectful culture".

Wynn, the owner of a chain of hotels in Las Vegas, stepped down from the finance chair position after allegations of sexual misconduct were levied against him.

In 2016, Wynn contributed $167,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and made individual donations totaling $5,400 each to Republican Senate campaigns of Alaska's Lisa Murkowski, Florida's Marco Rubio, South Carolina's Tim Scott, Texas' Ted Cruz and Wisconsin's Ron Johnson.

Vogel did not specify whether it was Wynn or his company that made the contribution.
