A Royal Caribbean Cruises spokesperson confirmed that Taylor died while aboard the Harmony of the Seas.
Storm Chasers star Joel Taylor died at 38 years old on January 23 from an apparent drug overdose, law enforcement officials told TMZ.
The FBI has since opened an investigation into Taylor's death, how the drugs got on board the ship, and who may have supplied the drugs. "As is our standard procedure, law enforcement was notified and responded to the ship when it arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Tuesday, January 23. A member of our Care Team is providing support and assistance to his family".
The U.S. Coast Guard also received a call over the death and will be investigating the death purely from a "marine safety standpoint".

The owner of the Martin-Dugger funeral home from Elk City, Okla., Taylor's hometown, said on behalf of the Taylor family: "We can confirm that Joel Taylor has passed away while on a cruise. We will always remember him fondly as an incredible meteorologist and driver of 'The Dominator.' Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this hard time", a spokeswoman for the network stated.
