The desperate drinker didn't park his unusual choice of transport in the car park
Russian media reported on January 11 that a man stole an armored personnel carrier from a protected parking lot the day before and drove it into a store in the town of Apatity.
The unidentified man swiped the Soviet-era MT-LB amphibious vehicle - known in the West as the M-1970 - from a Murmansk driving school and went on a rampage. Apatity is a small town in northern Russian Federation near the Arctic Circle.
Shortly after the crash, a staff member realized the man was trying to steal the bottle and apprehended him, a clerk at the Semya supermarket in the town of Apatity said by phone.
Struggling to turn around in a narrow street, the man, whom witnesses described as being drunk, proceeded to slam the tank into the window of the "Family" convenience store, the news agency said.
