Threat at Floyd County school under investigation, authorities say students are safe

In an Instagram post shared with The Saline Courier, a juvenile threatened to bring a gun to school and shoot teachers and students. The juvenile has since been turned over to the custody of juvenile officers.

The sheriff's department was made aware of a separate threat at 8:45 a.m. Friday, made from one high school student to another, school officials said.

Wheeler said she couldn't answer specific questions about the student's identity or what punishment they may face.
