The body of Ramniklal Jogiya, 74, was discovered cruelly dumped in a country lane seven miles away from his shop in Leicester.

Leicestershire Police said they believe Mr Jogiya was "taken against his will" after a break-in at his shop on Belgrave Road on Wednesday.

"He was heading home to his family for the evening, before he was taken", said Detective Chief Inspector David Swift-Rollinson, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, as he released CCTV footage on Saturday of Jogiya's last seen movements.

Police are on the hunt for a person wearing a burka who was seen on CCTV after a jeweller was brutally murdered minutes after he locked up his store.

He had begun the short walk to his family home at around 6.55pm on Wednesday but police believe he was forced into a auto and kidnapped shortly after.

Appealing for sightings of vehicles being driven slowly or suspiciously, the officer added: "We also still want to hear from anyone who was using Gaulby Lane or Houghton Lane in Stoughton between 7pm on Wednesday evening and 10am on Thursday morning".

The officer leading the investigation into the death of Jogiya, 74, appealed for more people to contact the Leicestershire police with information.
