The next supermoon lunar eclipse visible throughout all of the United States will be January 21, 2019-though that one will not be a blue moon.
The time between full moons is 29.5 days, and the average length of a calendar month is a little more than 30 days.
On Jan. 2, we had our first full moon of the month, and on Wednesday we'll have a blue moon.
According to its Group Manager (Corporate Communications) Sam S. Karnail, YSG, together with the Sabah Stargazer Association, will be holding the event which provides an opportunity for the public to witness the total eclipse of the moon, expected to take five hours and 17 minutes.
Lunar eclipses are visible from anywhere on earth that it's nighttime.
However, the solar eclipse comes at a specific time, which means it it's not night time in your part of the world, you'll simply see the regular full moon come sundown.

Because of that ellipse shape, every month the moon has a minimum distance to the Earth at just more than 221,000 miles called perigee, and its maximum distance dubbed apogee at almost 253,000 miles from our terrestrial home. The result: the moon appears larger than normal and NASA is predicting this one will be 14% brighter than usual. This is an optical illusion that I'll tell you about some other time.
