Blast hits Afghan capital Kabul
Afghanistan government has declared a nationwide national day of mourning, after a suicide auto bombing in Kabul claimed 95 lives and injured 163 others on Saturday. The bombing Saturday came just a week after Taliban militants killed 22 at an global hotel in the city.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned Saturday's deadly terrorist attack in central Kabul, Afghanistan, which was claimed by the Taliban, Guterres' spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in a statement, Xinhua reported.
"The people and the government of Pakistan condemn the terrorist blast in Kabul and extend heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this reprehensible act", Pakistan's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Muhammad Faisal said Saturday.
It was the third major attack in Afghanistan in the past week and one of the deadliest in the shell-shocked capital.
Afghanistan on Sunday declared a day of national mourning as the toll for those killed by a huge bomb hidden in an ambulance in Kabul topped 100 people, sharply raising tensions after insurgents struck in the city for the second time in a week. "There's no life for people in Afghanistan", shopkeeper Sameem said.
The head of the United Nations mission in Afghanistan described the attack as an atrocity and it drew widespread condemnation from neighbouring countries and allies, who had expressed confidence that the U.S. strategy was producing results.
The Swedish and Dutch embassies as well as the European Union mission and an Indian consular office are also nearby but there were no reports that any staff were hurt.
Windows at nearby Jamhuriat government hospital were shattered and its walls damaged.
"Indiscriminate attacks against civilians are grave violations of human rights and worldwide humanitarian law and can never be justified".

U.S. President Donald Trump called for "decisive action" by all countries against the Taliban, saying in a statement on January 27, "This murderous attack renews our resolve and that of our Afghan partners". Trump sent more USA troops to Afghanistan previous year and has also ordered an increase in airstrikes and other assistance to Afghan forces.
However, the Taliban have dismissed any suggestion that they have been weakened by the US approach and say they will only agree to talks when global forces leave Afghanistan.
On Wednesday, an assault on the office of a British charity, Save the Children, in the eastern city of Jalalabad, killed four people.
