No. 8 FSU dug itself in a staggering hole, trailing by as many as 23 points in the first half and 34 late in the fourth quarter, and ultimately fell 100-69 to No. 5 Notre Dame in front of a record crowd of 9,498 people at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Sunday afternoon. Since their 100-67 loss at Louisville on January 11, the Fighting Irish have won their last five games by an average margin of 32.2 points, including four by 29 or more.

At least Notre Dame's offense showed signs of picking up Saturday by scoring the most points in regulation in a six-game span. Sophomore T.J. Gibbs delivered with a career-high 27 points. At Clemson on January 20, the Orlando, Florida, native scored 13 points with seven rebounds.

After the team's upset on Friday, the Gophers were looking for more defensive stops and overtime magic in the second game of the series against Notre Dame.

Notre Dame: Hosts North Carolina on Thursday.
