A rural almond orchard in northern California has become the scene of a shocking double murder, with one body found in a freezer and another in a pond.
The Sheriff's Office stated Martin Ehrke, 49, was arrested Thursday.
Sheriff Lt Mark Contreras told CBS station KOVR-TV: "They [the murder victims] were now known to be here at this residence staying on and off".
Martin Christian Ehrke was taken into custody after investigators found the bodies of Kimberly Lynn Taylor, 39, and Jessica Lynn Mazak, 25, at an Arbuckle property in California.
News of the two bodies discovered on the property has spread in Arbuckle.
The nature of Taylor's or Mazak's relationship to Ehrke was not immediately known, but law enforcement did say that Ehrke and the two women lived on Ehrke's mother's property where they were found.
The names of Ehrke's father, who was home during the investigation, has not been released.
Detectives say Ehrke had paid a visit to the Colusa Medical Center the day before for an unknown reason a day before the bodies were found.

"It's going to be hard on this community for a while", Contreras said.
Garcia said it was a shock to so many who went to Arbuckle High School with Ehrke.
"You think you know somebody, and you don't", Garcia said. Each asked for privacy at this time.
Ehrke was then charged with two counts of homicide and booked into the Colusa County Jail.
Brenda Winn, DA senior legal secretary, said this was just the first arraignment hearing and Ehrke will enter in a plea at his next court date, which is scheduled for February 7 at 8:30 a.m.at the Colusa Superior Court.
