Zidane slams media coverage of Real Madrid

Real Madrid have only won two of their last five games against Villarreal in La Liga (D2 L1), both wins coming under Zinédine Zidane (3-0 at Bernabeu in April 2016 and 3-2 at La Ceramica in February 2017).

With a comfortable first-leg advantage, Zinedine Zidane rested much of his first team, making 10 changes from the line-up that struggled to a disappointing draw at Celta Vigo on Sunday to fall 16 points behind league leaders Barcelona.

"I am exhausted of hearing that Real Madrid are bad, it is easy to say that everything is bad but you know that everything is not negative here", Zidane told a press conference.

He told reporters ahead of Saturday's game with Villarreal: "We can't always look at or listen to what is being said".

Real Madrid have only scored 28% of their goals in the second half of games in La Liga this season (nine out of 32), the lowest percentage of any team.

Madrid opened the scoring in the 11th minute, Vazquez heading home Dani Carvajal's deep cross when left unmarked at the back post.
