The fact that the BJP lost both seats - Gorakhpur was vacated by Adityanath and Phulpur by his deputy Keshav Prasad Maurya after the BJP formed the state government a year ago - was a reason for review, the chief minister added.

Elated over the victories in the Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha seats, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav credited the outcome to BJP's "misgovernance" and also thanked once arch foe and BSP leader Mayawati for supporting his candidates.

Both Yogi and Maurya resigned from their respective Lok Sabha seats after they were appointed as leader and deputy leader of the BJP government in the state past year.
