An Air Canada flight from Toronto to Washington was forced to make an emergency landing Sunday evening after smoke was discovered in the cockpit
The flight diverted safely to Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia.
An Air Canada passenger jet with 67 people aboard made an emergency landing on Sunday evening at an airport outside Washington after pilots observed smoke in the cockpit, but no injuries were reported, the airline said.
Initial reports indicated that smoke may have been caused by a faulty circuit in the cockpit, said Andrew Trull, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which operates Dulles.
The flight was met on the tarmac by emergency personnel.

All 63 passengers and four crew members left the aircraft on the inflatable slides and no one was injured. He said an Air Canada official told the passengers that they woud be given taxi vouchers for the remaining travel distance.
"We smelled a slight burning odor, but there was no smoke or fire in the cabin", Passenger David Brown said to the CBC.
The FAA said it would investigate the incident. The aircraft is believed to be a Brazilian-made Embraer 175.
