The PwC economists consider the time is right for both domestic and global investors to put money into South Africa owing to Ramaphosa's takeover of the leadership of the ANC and the government.

But Ramaphosa has been at pains to say such a policy in South Africa would be done lawfully and in a manner that did not threaten the economy or food security.

PwC economists see a 1 in 4 chance that the election of Ramaphosa will have no significant impact on South Africa's economy.

Zikalala said that they informed Ramaphosa that they still wanted a national consultative conference (NCC) before 2019's general election.

During the church visit, Ramaphosa quoted several bible verses, telling congregants about the importance of humbling oneself and the renewal which he believed South Africa was undergoing. "God is addressing our problems, he is addressing our challenges".

Things would start changing for the better and the party looked forward to people registering and checking their details, he added.

Malema previously also ruled out a return to the ANC where he once headed the party's powerful Youth League.

He promised that his government would not hide anything from citizens, claiming where they couldn't meet their needs that they would tell South Africans.

"All those who want to invade land they will get to know that we will not allow that".
