Just those with the second era of Apple TV or later will have the capacity to get to the iTunes store.

Apple says that the first Apple TV is an "out of date Apple item" and won't be refreshed to help security changes.

Users have been recommended to update their account or payment information only by accessing the Settings menu directly on their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch; in iTunes or the App Store on the Mac, or, in iTunes on a PC.

The first-generation Apple TV was originally declared obsolete in 2015 following Apple's tradition of putting devices on the production chopping block within five to seven years from the time they first hit the market. The end of support for Windows XP and Windows Vista systems will not mean iTunes would not work on it entirely. But future purchases as well as redownloading contents that have been previously bought in these platforms will no longer be allowed.

"You can continue to use previous versions of iTunes on your Windows PC without support from Apple".

As a response to phishing attempts, Apple has released a support document where it has outlined the best ways to identify legitimate emails from the App Store and iTunes Store. "If you have Windows XP or Vista PC, your computer is no longer supported by Microsoft, and you're not able to use the latest version of iTunes", the company explained.

There might not be too many people still clinging on to the original Apple TV, but there are definitely those who still use systems that might be running something as old as Windows XP.

Even Microsoft has stopped supporting these versions of Windows, with the Redmond firm no longer issuing security updates or bug fixes.
