Apple Changes MFi Logo – Manufacturers Have 90 Days to Respond | ChargerLab
Yes, the MFi program of Apple is updating and the manufacturers of other accessory and attachments have to adopt it to work with Apple products. Moreover, the MFi meaning has been changed from "Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad" to "Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod". Previously, it was "iPod iPhone iPad" and now it reads "iPhone iPad iPod". Are you more likely to buy an Apple accessory if it is MFi certified?
"Promote your electronic accessory with MFi logos", the MFi program states on Apple's website.

The product illustrations have been replaced with a simple Apple logo.
The new logos that will be used for products coming out of the MFi program are not a huge change from the previous branding, but they do notably remove icons representing actual devices in exchange for a simplified Apple logo and just the iOS device names in text. Such manufacturers have to partner with Apple legal through MFi program. The logos are meant to give confirmation to consumers that the product is an official, Apple-approved accessory for respective devices. Well, Apple users might soon notice a new logo, as the company has given it an update and told third-party accessory makers they have 90 days to start using it. The company has already introduced the rebranding logo for this program a few weeks back.
