The talks between Trump and Netanyahu took place in the White House on March 5.

Trump told the prime minister that he was demanding "significant changes" to the 2015 accord, but that so far, Germany, France and the United Kingdom have only offered "cosmetic changes", a Sunday report in the Axios news website said.

But, according to Axios, Trump said such an arrangement would be unsatisfactory, because it would not substantially change the nuclear deal.

Trump is demanding "significant changes" to the Iran deal, not just additional agreements between the USA and the European nations, and said he would pull out of the deal if those changes aren't made, Israeli officials told Axios. If no consensus is reached by that date, Trump is expected to withdraw the US from the deal. While the claims were made anonymously, The White House and Israeli officials did not refute Axios reporting when asked for comment.

The report also comes just days before the third round of negotiations to retool the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the official name of Obama's Iran deal) are set to begin in Berlin.

The nuclear deal, reached in 2015 between Iran on one side and the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany on the other, rolled back Tehran's nuclear enrichment program in exchange for relief from punishing sanctions. In the last 2 months, two rounds of talks were held in London and Paris between senior diplomats from the four countries.

Trump hosted Netanyahu and his wife at the White House on Monday.

Later that day, US Vice President Mike Pence told AIPAC's annual policy conference that Trump was prepared to walk away from the agreement. Earlier this year, the President waived sanctions to give our lawmakers and our allies time to act.

The deal has been criticized for failing to address Iran's ballistic weapons program and for including "sunset clauses" under which numerous restrictions on Iran's nuclear program would expire, and for failing to create an adequate inspection regime to assess Iran's compliance with the agreement.
