The so-called Inclusion Rider has forced its way into the film industry's lexicon following McDormand's emotional acceptance speech after winning Best Actress in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri at the Oscars.

An "inclusion rider" is a clause that an actor can insist be inserted in the contract; it requires the cast and crew on a film to meet a certain level of diversity.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have now said that any future movies made by their production company Pearl Street will be adopting the contractual agreement.

Inclusion riders, contractual clauses whereby actors or executives can demand diverse cast and crew members on a project, hit the headlines earlier this month (Mar18) after Best Actress victor Frances McDormand asked stars to adopt them in her acceptance speech at the Academy Awards.
