Marvel Studios' Black Panther today is crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office, its 26th day of release.

Internationally, "Black Panther" is aiming for the $500 million mark this weekend, thanks to a strong debut in China, where it opened with $20 million in its first day. By the end of the weekend, Black Panther will rank as the No. 2 superhero film of all time behind Marvel's The Avengers after passing up The Dark Knight ($535 million) on Saturday.

"Nothing specific to reveal, other than to say we absolutely will do that", said Feige. "We have ideas and a pretty solid direction on where we want to head with the second one". "I think about it like a wall crumbling".

The original "Black Panther" movie - which stars Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa and his titular alter-ego - may have only just hit cinema screen in February this year, but Marvel Studios boss Kevin has revealed there are already plans in place for a sequel to the blockbuster hit. It's a balance between leaving people wanting more and then giving them too much, but I would watch a movie about any of those characters [Dora Milaje, Shuri] you just named.

He immediately added, "I'm not saying we're doing that, but I'm saying that we're intrigued by them", before pivoting to Marvel's immediate priority of finishing the studio's first major 22-movie arc. "Avengers: Age of Ultron", a 2015 release, pulled in sales of $240 million there, while the 2016 hit "Captain America: Civil War" produced $181 million. This is because the main character will be returning in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 releasing in 2018 and 2019 respectively. As of this morning, the film has taken in an astounding $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
