Bose will be launching an AR platform and set up a $50 million venture to invest in start-ups and developers. However the company will be making limited quantities available this summer for developers and manufacturers, but when exactly we will see the consumer versions of these glasses remains to be seen.
That being said, Bose's AR glasses aren't for sale to the public.
The Bose AR glasses are not almost the finished product, but this product will purportedly tell you information about objects in the real world that you are looking at.
The Bose concept sunglass is capable of telling the user more about what is being looked at by directing sound into the ear canal.

The Bose AR prototype glasses are Bluetooth compatible with microphones for calls or to activate Siri or Google Assistant. A new technology developed for the glasses ensures that the audio is audible only to the listener wearing the glasses, and the acoustic packages fit inside the arms of the glasses.
Aside from core features like listening to music and making a call, Bose said the wearable uses sensors to track head motion and the Global Positioning System from an iOS or Android device to track location. The location data is sent to Bose AR-enabled app that uses the information to send back relevant, real-time content back to the glasses which the wearer can then listen to. The Bose AR kit is an acoustics package that Bose hopes to add to wearables such as eyewear, helmets, headphones, etc.so as to deliver a novel take on reality augmentation. One example that was explained was that when you are looking at a historical monument, the company said that you might hear a speech from a famous person, or sounds that mimic the historical event.
